About Amanda Barton

Amanda Scanlan Barton was born and raised in Media, PA. She attended the Holy Child School at Rosemont and graduated from the Agnes Irwin School in Villanova. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English from George Washington University.

She began her public relations career in New York City and worked for notable companies like Guess?, Nautica and Aeropostale. She moved back to the Philadelphia area and worked in PR for the multimedia retailer, QVC, then ignited her entrepreneurial spirit as a small business owner with a Bryn Mawr clothing boutique. In 2010, she founded Barton South Communications, a marketing firm she co-owned for over a decade. She is a proud board member of The Friends Association for the Care and Protection of Children where she is able to use her marketing skills to enhance their mission of preventing and ending homelessness for families with children.

Amanda joined top luxury agent, and dear friend, Danielle O’Connor, knowing her marketing background and the extensive network would lend itself to a career in real estate. Amanda is driven, energetic, and personable and has excellent communication skills. She most recently joined the largest independent brokerage firm in the nation, Compass Real Estate on the Main Line.

Amanda and her husband, Patrick, a Villanova native, and Episcopal Academy and Villanova University graduate, reconnected in New York City and made the move from the city to the Philadelphia suburbs. Patrick is a founding partner of Apt Management, a real estate investment and management company that focuses on multifamily apartments. Amanda and Patrick reside in Berwyn, PA with their three children and two dogs.
